Air Fryer Beef Tenderloin
Beef tenderloin is a premium cut that delivers tenderness and flavor when cooked precisely. Using the air fryer ensures a perfect sear and a juicy, pink center — a true steakhouse-quality experience at sea, without firing up the grill or oven.
This method preserves the meat’s moisture while keeping preparation simple and clean.

Preparation:
- Remove the tenderloin from the refrigerator, 30 minutes to 1 hour before cooking, to reach room temperature. Pat the meat dry with paper towels and rub on all sides with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic, and herbs (if using).
Preheat the air fryer to 200C for about 3–5 minutes. Place the steaks in a single layer inside the basket with as much room between them as possible.
- Cook as follows: for rare – 6 minutes total (flipping halfway), for medium-rare – 8 minutes, and for medium – around 9 to 10 minutes.
- Once done, leave the steaks to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Note
Tips
Use a meat thermometer to check doneness: rare – 50C, medium-rare – 55C, medium – 60C.
Avoid overcooking; tenderloin is best when pink and juicy.
Resting after cooking allows the juices to redistribute and enhances tenderness.
Optional Enhancements
Substitute striploin with ribeye or sirloin if preferred. Top the steak with compound butter, such as garlic-parsley or chimichurri, for added richness.
