Instructions

  1. Prepare the Meatballs:

    1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, onion, garlic, soaked bread, egg, olive oil, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.
    2. Mix well until the ingredients are fully incorporated. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
    3. Shape the mixture into oval-shaped meatballs (about 50g each).
    4. Lightly coat the meatballs with flour, shaking off excess.
    1. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the meatballs for 2–3 minutes per side until lightly browned but not fully cooked. Set aside.
  2. Prepare the Tomato Sauce:

    1. In a large pan, heat 3 Tbsp olive oil over medium heat.
    2. Add garlic, cumin, and paprika, sautéing until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
    3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, sugar, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Simmer the Meatballs:

    1. Add the browned meatballs to the sauce, ensuring they are fully coated.
    2. Cover and simmer on low heat for 25–30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and the meatballs are tender.
